Ask for insturctor Dew
When I came to the Netherlands, I already had 10 years of experience driving. Unfortunately, the Dutch law required me to pass the exam again in order to get a Dutch license. Frankly, I was annoyed since I was already confident in my driving skills, and taking the theory and practical exam again was just a tedious thing to do next to all my other responsibilities. But boy oh boy did I not regret it. From the first day, instructor Dew made it clear that his goal is not to change my way of driving but to help me improve and be ready for the CBR requirements. He is a very experienced instructor, so much that sometimes I felt like he was reading my mind when I would make a certain decision on the road. He also never failed to spot a mistake and give feedback to fix it, no matter how small or big it was. He made sure we covered all points CBR would look for, but also went beyond that and made sure I improve any other points I asked for or he noticed I might need. Do not underestimate CBR, they ask some very specific behavior from drivers that might not be always how most people drive in reality. Thus, I encourage anybody to get lessons in order to successfully pass the exam in one go. For me personally, not only did I correct some "unacceptable" behavior, but I've also built my confidence to a significantly higher point, something I did not even know was possible after so many years of driving. Now I can comfortably say I can drive anywhere without any fear or stress. Oh, did I mention I passed in one go with an almost perfect score? Yup, all thanks to instructor Dew and Rijschool Actief!
